Fluffy Fiber gets turned into Colorful Felted Hats
Ever combine wool fiber with soapy water & agitation? It results in FELT, an ancient non-woven fabric that has amazing properties of water resistance & warmth. Come see FeltHappiness use her hands & imagination to create whimsical hats.
Juliane Gorman graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in textiles. Afterwards, she took Millinery classes at Fashion Institute of Technology. However, like many graduates, her interests hibernated while she pursued jobs and family. A few years ago, she serendipitously saw a felted bracelet at a craft fair. Looking for a book, she found one devoted to felted hats. It was her eureka moment: a craft which combined her love of colorful fiber, with her passion for hats.
Juliane Gorman creates colorful and whimsical hats inspired by nature, fairytales and fine art. Her work is sold under the FeltHappiness label and is exhibited locally and internationally, with hats in private collections in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.
