Dan Lockton is a British designer and researcher, living in Pittsburgh, PA. He is Assistant Professor in the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University (2016–) and Director of the new Imaginaries Lab. Dan’s research focuses on the links between design, understanding, imaginaries, and human action, particularly in relation to social and environmental benefit, drawing on influences from a range of fields including behavioral and decision sciences, human-computer interaction, pattern languages and cybernetics.
Wu Shengzhi is a designer, artist, curator and independent art writer. He likes creative coding, and has a huge passion for the combination of art, design and technology. He holds a BA in fine art from Design and Art Academy, Tsinghua University. His essay won 2012 John Moores Critic Prize, and his artworks have been widely shown in galleries and museums such as CAFAM( China Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum), Today Art Museum etc. He is also the co-founder of non-profit Independent art space ON SPACE. He is currently in pursuit of Master of Design in Interaction Design (MDes) degree in Carnegie Mellon University.
Devika designs digital and physical products. She thinks of design as her medium to create compelling, distinctive and engaging work. Her interests of study are wide ranged and sometimes far out; which she brings together through design. She is passionate about solving problems by innovating through design-led technology and has worked in different capacities as a designer in various parts of Asia and Europe.
On weekends, you can find her working mostly on her next ambitious terrarium or bonsai project; attending live jazz, playing badminton or planning my next travel.
